AIDs/HIV Day

A teacherly moment I think. Among others, my primary responsibility was to organize AIDS/HIV Day. It was a success, I think, and the learners did a lot of cool stuff and learned something. The most intriguing part of the day was when we had the learners ask basically any questions about their bodies, puberty, and HIV. SO, I stood up in front of 20, 14 and 15 year old girls and they got to ask away. It was actually one of the most educational activities because the kids are told so many outright lies about growing up and sex. We also had a woman with her son that were both HIV positive to come in and give a talk to the learners. She was incredible and the kids really liked her.
