And then the rains came

The far north of Namibia has gone form a drought stricken place of suffering to a land of trudging through water up to your thighs. Yes, after drought conditions for 3 months and many livestock dead, the rains have unleashed themselves upon Ovamboland with a fury. I have had to trudge to school twice now, with trousers turned up and school shoes in hand because the baaki couldn' makie it across the Oshanas. Otherwise everything is swell. I have the privelage of teaching grade 10 this year and they are dedicated, hard-working and also a ton of fun. They love their new dictionaries and they acually look like real learners now.
